What Evergreen does

Evergreen synchronizes your bookmarks across your own browsers and browser profiles, using a GitHub repository that you own and control as the storage backend. Chrome, Chromium browser, and Firefox builds use the same bookmark format and the same GitHub repository. There is no Evergreen-operated cloud service.

Data stored on your device

Evergreen keeps the following in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), on your device only:

None of this is transmitted anywhere except as described in the next section. Uninstalling the extension removes it.

Data transmitted and to whom

Evergreen communicates with exactly one host: api.github.com, over HTTPS. It sends:

There are no other endpoints. No telemetry, no crash reporting, no analytics, or update pings are sent to the developer or to any third party other than GitHub acting on your behalf. There is no Evergreen-operated cloud service.

Settings export

You can export your settings to a file for transfer to another browser. Your access token is included in that file only if you explicitly choose to include it at export time. Treat an export containing the token like a password.

What the developer collects

Nothing. Evergreen operates no servers and has no way to observe your usage, your bookmarks, or your identity. There is no Evergreen-operated cloud service.

Third parties

GitHub stores the repository you chose, under your GitHub account and their terms. See the GitHub Privacy Statement. Evergreen has no relationship with any other third party.
